With over 16 years of teaching experience, Natalia has served as a Senior Lecturer at MSPU, formerly holding leadership roles at language centres. Her expertise spans various English proficiency exams, including TOEFL, CAE, CPE, supported by a Linguistics degree and a BA in Sociology. Natalia holds a full Cambridge DELTA, and her academic pursuits focus on IELTS syllabus, listening skills, and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL).
This talk focuses on effective and proven strategies for teaching speaking skills in the modern classroom. Natalia emphasizes the importance of setting achievable goals, clear task explanations, and careful planning to enhance student engagement. Alexandra Kondratyeva
Alexandra has over 15 years experience teaching English to students of all ages and is determined to ensure her classroom experience is fun and engaging to maximise performance. Polina Kordik
Polina is a teacher, trainer, researcher and founder of Polina Kordik School of English. She specializes in teaching methodology, exam preparation and advanced levels. Maria Kholmohorskaya
Maria Kholmogorskaya graduated from MSPU, has been working as a teacher of English for more than 7 years. During that time she managed to work at the university, school and EF (English First). Now Maria is focused on teaching pronunciation, especially British Accent. She taught more than one hundred students to speak like native speakers. Maria is using new neuro approach to teaching pronunciation.
It happened to everyone: you know all of the words but do not understand a thing in a native speaker’s speech. The reason may be not the vocabulary they use but the pronunciation they have. During the talk we will discuss listening comprehension process, identify several steps that may help us and even our students to understand native-speakers better and try several tasks to develop our own listening skills.
Nargisa Tursunova
Nargisa is a young teacher of English with 7+ years of professional experience. A finalist of a variety of international programmes, such as Global UGRAD, DAAD and other smaller scholarships. Writing and speaking are often considered the most challenging tasks at language exams by both students and teachers. I will share activities developed using artificial intelligence (AI) which are aimed at making the acquisition of these skills more engaging and effective. I am going to address common challenges such as paraphrasing, idea generation, and proofreading and provide solutions for all of them.
Arseniy Parshin

Bloom’s taxonomy is a widely recognised tool for course development and teaching, known for its versatility across various educational contexts. However, it is not without its limitations. What other frameworks can we use to enhance our practice of teaching a foreign language? In this talk, we will revisit Bloom’s taxonomy and explore other taxonomies, discussing their advantages and limitations.

Nikolay Malinin
A qualified English teacher with 20-year experience and the PhD in History. Currently, he is giving lectures on Creative Writing and History at the Institute of International Education (MSPU). He is also teaching Course Design and Research Methodology to master students of the program "Modern Technologies in Teaching English". His primary interests revolve around contemporary models of instructional design and course development.
My presentation will explore how AI can help language teachers implement the key characteristics of the constructivist theory of learning to turn their classrooms in more student-centered environments. The talk will cover five key areas of the constructivist theory — active learning, personalization, collaboration, adaptability, and feedback — and how AI tools can enrich each of them.
Anastasia Kirillova
In the past 15 years IAnastasia has taught general, business and legal English to corporate, private and university students. Since she passed CPE with grade A in 2020, her main focus has been on working with higher levels and hosting speaking clubs. Anastasia is currently teaching Academic English and English for Specific Purposes at RANEPA, as well as working with private students and groups primarily consisting of English teachers.
My university students often come to class feeling tired and lethargic, and one of the best ways to shake them out of the sleepy slump is through physical movement. In my talk I want to share a few of my favourite ways to get students out of their seats with the minimum of grumbling and eye-rolling. From variations of good old mingling activities to speaking tasks inspired by YouTube debate shows, they are simple, low-prep and a constant hit with even the most skeptical (or sleep-deprived) young adult learner.

I suggest exploring specific structures employed in Singapore - a country consistently ranked high in international education quality assessments - that proved to be effective in solving this problem.

21st century learners cannot imagine their lives without gadgets. What are the ways of using smartphones in a more beneficial way? In this talk, I focus on how telegram channels can develop students’ autonomy. Drawing from Krashen’s theory of second language acquisition (SLA), running telegram channels can reduce the affective filter which in turn will contribute to greater output from students. This talk will be useful for those who are teaching young adults and eager to vary English lessons.
Viktoria Zhukova
Viktoria is qualified as a teacher of English, German, Italian and Russian as a foreign language, specializing in teaching foreign languages and teaching methods, working as a faculty member at IIE, Moscow State Pedagogical University. She teaches English as a Foreign language, English Literature, and psycholinguistics. Viktoria's Ph.D. thesis is devoted to the research of ground-breaking innovations in designing teaching materials for developing autonomy among first year students.
Learning foreign languages in modern conditions requires the active use of technologies that make the learning process more exciting and productive. One of these tools is interactive workbooks, the creation of which has become possible thanks to various websites and online platforms. Such material can also be used in the format of language marathons and asynchronous learning. In this talk, we will consider the benefits of using such resources, as well as examples of their application in teaching foreign languages.
Asta Kondrateva
A Cambridge-certified (CELTA, CAE) English tutor from Saint Petersburg, passionate about the Communicative approach in ELT.
